Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many hospital bed days there were for people with a primary diagnosis of malnutrition and a secondary diagnosis of dementia in each of the last 10 years.
Malnutrition can be caused by a variety of factors, including an inability to absorb nutrients normally, or a condition or disease which affects a patient’s ability to feed normally. The hospital bed days for finished consultant episodes with primary diagnosis of malnutrition and a secondary diagnosis of dementia in each of the last 10 years is presented in the following table.
