Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to the Answer of 5 December 2016 to Question 55033, what steps his Department takes to recover outstanding fees from private patients.

The recovery of outstanding fees from private patients is a matter for each National Health Service trust or foundation trust.

We are informed by NHS Improvement that it does not specifically collect and publish figures for outstanding fees from private patients treated at NHS trusts or foundation trusts.
