Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether he has met representatives from (a) Hong Kong pro-democracy groups and (b) the Hong Kong Democratic Party since taking office.

I have not yet met the Hong Kong SAR Government or members of the Hong Kong Legislative Council. I plan to visit Hong Kong next month, which will be an opportunity to do so. I will also meet UK companies and Hong Kong investors. The British Consul General in Hong Kong meets legislators from across the political spectrum, members of the Hong Kong SAR Government and representatives of the Central People's Government on a regular basis.
