Our Embassy in Bogota is aware of the recent attempted murder of Mr Esneider Gonzalez. At UK instigation, we expect it to be raised in future correspondence between the local EU Human Rights Working Group and the Colombian Attorney General. The Group has already raised similar cases of attacks against human rights defenders and trade unionists, including other FENSUAGRO members.
