Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what steps his Department is taking to (a) reduce the amount of manual processing on paper it carries out and (b) make those processes digital.
Treasury is in a continual process of reducing the paper it consumes by digitising processes. We have digital tools for managing fiscal events and correspondence and the vast majority of the departments’ work is carried out digitally. Printing is restricted using “follow me” printing and the Treasury also has use of a reprographics department. All processes within the department are digital, though some still require wet ink completion.
