The UK has made clear its hope that the entire country, including all candidates and political parties, will respect core democratic principles, electoral processes and the election result.

We are closely monitoring reports of political violence ahead of the elections and, through our Embassy in Brasilia, the UK continues to engage with the Brazilian Government, political parties and civil society organisations, including on the issue of election security.
