Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many staff in her Department are engaged in measuring the effect of the new entitlement for free early years education and childcare.
This question was answered on 2nd November 2016
As full implementation of the new entitlement to 30 hours of free childcare for working parents of 3 and 4 year olds does not begin until September 2017, the department is not currently engaged in measuring the effect. The department is developing plans to measure the success of the new entitlement once it is in ‘steady state’ following the full rollout of the scheme.
