Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 8 June 2016 to Question 39128, how the conversion of the Great Western Main Line Class 801 units to bi-mode diesel operation will be funded; and how his Department will recover such conversion costs.

The Department has a number of funding options for the bi-mode conversion of the Class 801 units planned for operation on the Great Western Main Line. I plan to make a decision on funding in the Autumn.
