Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what the average waiting time is by region to complete mandatory reconsiderations of employment and support allowance claims.

The period the data covers is from 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017.

The data has been gathered based on the claimant’s postcode and is not reflective of the processing office dealing with the mandatory reconsideration.

The data has been measured using the Actual Average Clearance Time (AACT). This measures the average number of Working Days (excludes weekends and English Bank Holidays) between an application being made and the date the customer was notified of the decision on their claim.
