Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many and what proportion of lone parent families with three children affected by the benefit cap have (a) one child, (b) two children and (c) three children aged under five.

From April 2013 (when the benefit cap was introduced) to February 2015 (the latest available data) 1,876 single parent households with one child dependant have been capped. Of these, 1,158 households (62%) have a child aged under 5 as at February 2015.

Further information on the number of children aged under 5 is not readily available and could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
