We are following the serious situation in Kashmir closely and are in regular contact with the Governments of India and Pakistan. Events in Kashmir can have regional and international implications and we continue to urge calm and caution from all. The longstanding policy position of the UK remains unchanged: It is for India and Pakistan to find a lasting political resolution on Kashmir bilaterally, taking into account the wishes of the Kashmiri people
