Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what recent assessment he has made of the potential effect of living in an area of high deprivation on a person's likelihood of smoking; and if he will make a statement.

There is a strong association between deprivation and smoking prevalence and individuals are more likely to smoke if they are living in an area of high deprivation.
