The Mayor of London is responsible for air quality in the capital and has reserve powers under Part IV of the Environment Act (1995) to reflect this.

London received funding for air quality as part of the 2015 £5.7 billion Transport for London funding settlement.

London and Londoners have also received almost £147 million funding from the Government’s £3.5 billion plan to improve air quality and reduce harmful emissions, including almost £10 million this year to clean up London’s buses.
