In England, decisions about local NHS fertility services are determined by clinical commissioning groups, taking account of the National Institute for Health Care Excellence’s (NICE) fertility guidelines. The Government is clear that we expect local National Health Service commissioning bodies to commission fertility services in line with NICE guidelines.

NICE has started a scoping process for reviewing fertility guidelines including those for same sex female couples.
