The Ministry of Justice does not hold data on crimes which involve the use of knives or firearms but does collect data on offences on possession of a firearm or a bladed article.

The number of defendants prosecuted and convicted of offences relating to these offences can be found at the following link: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/733981/outcomes-by-offence-tool-2017-update.xlsx. Search ‘Offence’ for `10A Possession of a firearm with intent’ and `10D Possession of article with blade or point’.
