Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what the total amount was that HMRC have paid out as a result of lost tribunal cases in each year since 2010.

HMRC does not hold information on payments that is directly linked to the outcomes of tribunal cases.

HMRC holds information on case outcomes and the tax under dispute but does not hold any information on the amount paid out following a case being lost. In many cases the amount paid out will be different from the tax under dispute.
