Based on the recommendations put forward in the Psychological Wellbeing and Work report, last year we took forward three small scale feasibility pilots to explore the most promising and evidence-based approaches to supporting claimants with mental health problems.

The pilots were:

1) Individual Placement and Support (IPS) in Durham & Tees Valley; Surrey & Sussex; Midland Shires; and Black Country Jobcentre Plus districts

2) Group work based on peer support in Thames Valley and Gloucestershire & West of England Jobcentre Plus districts; and

3) Telephone based employment and psychological support in North East Yorkshire & Humber; and South Yorkshire Jobcentre Plus districts

We will update the House in due course.
