Unemployment: Young People

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the oral Answer to the hon. Member for Easington of 26 January 2015 to Question 907220, what the evidential basis was for the statement that according to figures from the International Labour Organisation, youth unemployment is down on the quarter; and if he will make a statement.

The statement was in reply to a question about long-term youth unemployment. The latest figures show the number of young people aged 16-24 unemployed for a year or more fell by 3,000 in the latest quarter.
