HIV Infection: Disease Control

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what progress the Government has made on meeting its target to have no new HIV transmissions by 2030.

This question was answered on 20th May 2021

We are developing a Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategy and HIV Action Plan on reaching the 2030 target, which we plan to publish in 2021. We are making a good progress towards this target and between 2014 and 2019, there was a 34% reduction in new HIV diagnoses in England.
