The Department for Education collects information on the number of children looked after in residential care via the SSDA903 return. The number looked after in residential care at 31 March 2014 is published in Table A3 of the ‘Children looked after including adoption’ Statistical First Release.[1] However, information is not collected on children in residential care who take psychiatric drugs and there are no future plans to collect this information.
