Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the likely effects of stamp duty reform on (a) house prices and (b) housing supply.

The reform to Stamp Duty Land Tax on residential properties will have a limited impact on house prices overall, though this effect will be small compared to overall fluctuations in house prices. The reform is not expected to have a significant direct effect on housing supply.
