Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, if he will implement the recommendation of the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence to set a timetable for a wider discussion of the way in which treatments are developed, evaluated and supported for adoption in the NHS.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s (NICE) proposals arising from its consultation on value based assessment will require careful consideration with NICE, NHS England and other stakeholders. We will be discussing with NICE the further work it has proposed over the coming months.
