The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will respond to any questions relating to Universal Credit policy if asked to do so by local authorities. However, DWP would have no wider role to play in, and would collect no data in relation to, legal challenges brought against individual local authorities as a result of their advice about Universal Credit.
