We have some of the highest standards of animal welfare and the production of foie gras by force feeding is banned in the UK as it is incompatible with our domestic legislation. Once we leave the European Union, there will be an opportunity to consider whether the UK can adopt a different approach to foie gras imports and sales in the UK.
