Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what proportion of renewable electricity and renewable heat was supplied by biomass fuelled technologies in the last year for which figures are available.

In 2013, biomass fuelled technologies (animal and plant biomass, and co-firing) supplied 18 per cent of renewable electricity generation and 76 per cent of renewable heat consumption.
