Under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, United Kingdom nationals will be able to continue benefiting from existing European Union provisions, such as the European Health Insurance Card scheme, until the end of the Implementation Period at the end of December 2020. The UK Government remains committed to leaving the EU with a deal.

In the event, that the UK leaves the EU without a deal, the UK Government will seek reciprocal arrangements with EU Member States so that UK nationals do not face sudden changes to their healthcare cover.
