Departmental officials have communicated with a range of manufacturers and importers regarding the establishment of supplies of cannabis-based products for medicinal use in the United Kingdom.

Whilst the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has not met with Bedrocan, Tilray, GW Pharmaceuticals or Aphria, the former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Lord O’Shaughnessy) did meet with GW Pharmaceuticals once.

Since January 2018, officials from the Department have met with Bedrocan once, Tilray three times and GW Pharmaceuticals seven times (including a meeting which involved the Department’s Chief Scientific Advisor). No meetings have taken place between Departmental officials and Aphria.
