Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what proportion of new dwellings in England were built on previously developed land in each year since 2008.

The proportion of new dwellings in England built on previously-developed land in each year since 2008 can be found in Table P211 of the Live Tables on Land Use Change Statistics, which is available from:

I also refer the rt. hon. Member to the Written Ministerial Statement of 16 June 2014, Official Report, Column 71-72WS, which outlines the steps we are taking to increase house building on brownfield land.
