In 2015 the Home Office established the Undercover Policing Inquiry to investigate and report on undercover police operations conducted by English and Welsh police forces in England since 1968. The Home Office is a core participant in the Inquiry and is in the process of disclosing material relevant to its terms of reference.

The Newham Monitoring Project and the Metropolitan Police are also core participants in the Inquiry. The Inquiry’s investigations are live and ongoing and it would therefore not be appropriate for the Government to comment further. The Inquiry’s approach and plans to report are set out in its strategic review, which was published in May 2018.
