The Department does not routinely pay for promoted content on social media channels and the communications directorate has not directly commissioned any promoted activity on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram since June 2017.

However, the Department has co-funded a National Health Service recruitment campaign with NHS England. Between July and September 2018 the campaign spend across social media was £93,416 and in October 2018 it was £56,147.18.
