Further to the announcement of 9 May, these payment incentives will be available for future postgraduates nursing students who complete courses funded by loans in the 2018/19 academic year. Payments will be made to these graduates once they take up in employment in the health and care sector in England in mental health, learning disability or district nursing.

Working with the National Health Service and the university sector, the Government is finalising the most effective way to administer and introduce the scheme and will set out details in due course.
