Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether it is the Government's policy that the eligibility criteria for the EU Settled Status Scheme as outlined in the EU Settlement Scheme Statement of Intent, published on 21 June 2018, will change in the event that no agreement is reached with the EU on the UK leaving the EU.

The Prime Minister and the Home Secretary have confirmed that in the event of there being no agreement with the EU on the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, all EU citizens and their family members resident in the UK by 29 March 2019 will be able to stay, their rights will be protected and they will be able to live their lives broadly as they do now. Further information will be published in due course.
