DFID is committed to taking a comprehensive approach to mental health.

This includes working to improve the provision, equity and quality of mental health services. For example, in Ghana our Health Sector Support Programme has supported mental health systems strengthening and efforts to address underlying stigma and discrimination.

Through Education Cannot Wait, the UK is funding safe learning spaces, teaching materials and psycho-social support – which aims to ensure 50% of qualified teachers in crises are fully trained in psychosocial support.
