Tier 1 interventions involve action by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) to recover, for workers, money owed to them by employers. Recovery involves payment of the sums owed by the employers direct to the workers concerned, not to the public purse. The amounts recovered for workers in this way are published annually in the GLAA’s Annual Report and Accounts.
