We have not assessed the specific merits of ring fencing funding for arts, culture and media projects. DCMS work closely with our arms length bodies to increase diversity in the cultural, arts and media sectors. Our Culture White Paper stated that publicly funded culture should reflect the diversity of our country and DCMS has asked Arts Council England, Historic England and the national museums and galleries to develop and share strategies for tackling the lack of diversity in leadership. The BFI is also amongst our ALBs who have developed and rolled out Diversity Standards, which applies to all of its public funding programmes.
