As the Foreign Secretary has made clear, China's decision to ban BBC World News in mainland China is an unacceptable curtailing of media freedom and will only damage China's reputation in the eyes of the world. We have made representations on this matter directly with the Government of China, urging them to reverse their decision, whilst also underlining broader concerns about the lack of media freedoms in China.
