Elections: Freedom of Information

Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the Answer of 18 June 2018 to Question 150180 on Elections: Freedom of Information, what steps the Government plans to take to (a) maintain the secrecy of voting and (b) ensure that voters can not be identified as a result of bringing Returning Officers under the Freedom of Information Act.

I refer the hon. Member to the reply given on Wednesday 18 June 2018 - PQ150180.

As is usual, the Government would fully consult on the practical implications of such a change, including appropriate protections for sensitive information
