Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if his Department will provide guidelines on enforcing the whole designation stretch applied for under the bathing water regulations for inland, riverine bathing water.

The Bathing Water Regulations 2013 set out that following a decision by the Secretary of State to designate a bathing water, the Environment Agency determines a sampling point, monitors the site and assess whether action is needed to improve water quality.
