Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether the Government has made an assessment of whether UK-licensed military goods were used in the Saudi-led operation in Hodeidah port; and if he will make a statement.

​The UK has licensed the export of a wide range of military items to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. These include combat aircraft and components as well as precision guided munitions that have been used by Saudi Arabia in Yemen. We do not have specific information on whether equipment licensed by the UK has been used in operations in Hodeidah. We will not licence the export of items where we assess that there is a clear risk that they might be used in the commission of a serious violation of international humanitarian law or international human rights law.
