The Government accepts that the child migration policy was misguided and deeply flawed. We are currently carefully considering the findings and recommendations made in the Child Migration Programmes report by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse and will respond in due course.

We are acutely aware of the age and declining health of many former child migrants, and we are committed to providing a timely response to the Inquiry's recommendation.
