The College of Policing issued operational guidance on hate crime in 2014 to support police forces in England and Wales. The National Police Chiefs’ Council’s national lead for hate crime supports police forces to implement the guidance.

It is for the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable for Lancashire Constabulary to assess the effectiveness of the police response to hate crime in Lancashire.
