A carer who is entitled to vote as an elector at the election can help another person to vote in the role of “companion”. Following analysis of the responses to the Call for Evidence on Accessibility of elections, the Government, in partnership with its expert Accessibility of Elections Working Group, will review the position to identify whether changes are required to the provisions for carers to assist people to vote at the polling station.
