The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) Pneumococcal Sub-committee has been undertaking a review of adult pneumococcal vaccination during 2015. Subject to the availability of the necessary data, it is anticipated that the advice of the Pneumococcal Sub-committee will be considered by the JCVI at their next meeting in October 2015.

As set out in the JCVI Code of Practice, JCVI will consider the advice of the Sub-committee and may decide to issue an interim statement for a short period of consultation with those stakeholders who submitted evidence that informed the Committee’s advice.
