Council Tax: Exemptions

Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to Regulation 10 of the Council Tax Administration and Enforcement Regulations 1992, whether his Department has received reports of local authorities not fulfilling their duty to notify the residents or owners of dwellings which are exempt from council tax.

The Department does not collect information about notifications issued to council tax payers. Such matters are the responsibility of local authorities, which administer council tax.
