We are working in close partnership with the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Socialist Republic of Vietnam to combat modern slavery and human trafficking. We have a strong information-sharing relationship and are working to build the capacity of both countries to support victims and bring perpetrators to justice through the Modern Slavery Fund and Conflict, Stability and Security Fund.

There is currently no Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on human trafficking between the Home Office and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. However, the UK is working to develop an MoU on human trafficking to enable greater cooperation to apprehend perpetrators and support those at risk.

There is a 2004 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Cooperation to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons. The MoU is primarily a ‘statement of goodwill’ and has helped to facilitate international cooperation between the UK and Nigeria to combat human trafficking.
