The department has been working closely with the education sector and across government more widely to ensure that Ukrainian students are supported during this difficult time. In March 2022, I convened the higher education (HE) taskforce, bringing together representatives from across the sector to discuss how we can work together to facilitate the progression of Ukrainian students to HE.

Ukrainians aged 19 and over and their family members settled under the Ukraine Family Scheme, and the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine) in the UK, can access training to gain the skills they need to move on with their lives. This includes provision funded through the Adult education budget (including English to Speakers of Other Languages) and level 3 free courses for job offer.
