Economics of Biodiversity Review: Public Expenditure

Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether he plans to ensure that the forthcoming Budget is (a) informed by and (b) consistent with the (i) interim findings and (ii) final report of the Dasgupta Review on the Economics of Biodiversity.

The independent Dasgupta Review on the Economics of Biodiversity will be published on 2 February. The government will respond formally in due course.

Government spending decisions at fiscal events are evaluated in line with the Green Book, which provides detailed guidance for valuing the costs and benefits of interventions with regards to climate change mitigation and other environmental impacts.
