Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether his Department plans to allocate revenue raised from the sugar tax to services for severely obese children.
The 2016 Budget announced funding for a number of programmes linked to the revenue from the Soft Drinks Industry Levy.
The funding, which totals £575 million over the spending review period, has been allocated to a number of programmes to support pupil health and wellbeing, specifically the PE and Sport Premium, the Healthy Pupils Capital Fund, Breakfast Clubs and the essential life skills programme.
