The Serious Violence Strategy sets out our assessment of the risk and protective factors which impact on an individual’s likelihood of becoming involved in serious violence as a victim or perpetrator.

The impact of adverse childhood experiences are highlighted within this context and through the Police Transformation Fund the Home Office is providing £7m to the four police forces in Wales and Public Health Wales to develop and test a new approach to prevent and mitigate adverse childhood experiences.
