Accident and Emergency Departments

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what proportion of visits to accident and emergency departments were for minor ailments (a) in total, (b) by each strategic health authority until their abolition and (c) by each clinical commissioning group since they were set up in England in each year since 2006.

NHS England publishes monthly data on the number of attendances at Type 3 accident and emergency (A&E) departments (other A&E departments/Minor Injury Units). This is available at national and trust level in each year from 2010-11 via the following link:
